- The Mystery Skulls Van design is heavily based on The Mystery Machine from Scooby Doo as well as Greg Universe's van.[1]
- Inside, there is a figurine hanging from the rearview mirror that references a Boo ghost, an enemy from the Super Mario Bros. franchise.[2] The Boo is wearing a pair of shades, which is similar to that of Sugilite's shades. Similar shades are worn by the characters Kamina, but they are most similar to the shades worn by Dirk/Bro Strider (and briefly by his younger brother Dave Strider) from the series Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and Homestuck respectively.
